Beaf is a four-piece Christian rock/alternative band from University High School out of Spokane Washington. We formed in September of 2005 and were originally a five-piece rock band, but we parted ways with one of our old members in order to become a Christian band. We have competed in the Spokane battle of the bands called the RAWK Final Four two consecutive years, placing 5th in 2005 out of 20 bands, and 2nd out of 16 bands in early February of 2006. The members include Chris Bonney drums/ vocals, Steven Cutter bass/ vocals, Kris Mayhew, Lead guitar, and Kevin Darrow guitar/ Lead vocals. Our goal is to promote the name of Jesus Christ. All of our songs have a positive message to them, whether it is about God, or about fighting against peer pressure. Our first song as a Christian band was Undeserving. We had the opportunity to record this track for the RAWK Final Four Compilation CD. We are going to be recording a full length CD over the summer, but have only had the chance to do some live recordings of a few of our songs, “Eternity” and “Throw it Away.”
